 Worcestershire Horse Transport is led by founder and owner Charlotte, a dedicated equestrian professional with over 30 years of experience in the horse industry. Her lifelong passion for horses began at the age of three and has since evolved into a deep, practical understanding of equine care, behaviour, and welfare.

Throughout her extensive career, Charlotte has worked across a wide range of equestrian disciplines, including competition yards, livery stables, rehabilitation centres, and private settings. This diverse background has equipped her with the knowledge and adaptability to confidently manage horses of all breeds, temperaments, and levels of training. Her calm and empathetic manner helps ensure horses remain relaxed and secure throughout their journey.

Charlotte holds a Type 1 Certificate of Competence in Horse Transport and is fully DEFRA-authorised, meeting all current government regulations for the commercial movement of horses. Her commitment to best practice goes beyond compliance—she approaches each transport job with the mindset of delivering excellence, safety, and compassion.

Outside of her transport work, Charlotte continues to actively compete with her own horse, staying engaged with the competitive equestrian community and maintaining hands-on experience with the demands of travelling sport horses.

Worcestershire Horse Transport is fully insured, including comprehensive Care, Custody and Control cover. This level of protection ensures that, in the unlikely event of an incident, horses and owners are safeguarded at every stage. The company’s specialist vehicle, Dory, is also covered for full breakdown and recovery, adding an extra layer of security and reliability for long or short-distance transport.

 'Dory' is a fully reinforced lorry designed with your horse’s safety and comfort as top priorities. Outfitted with premium features and constructed to the highest standards, Dory ensures a secure and smooth journey for every horse transported.

Structural Features:

Bulkhead: Constructed with a steel box section frame, overlaid with marine ply, EVA wall boarding, and finished with durable rubber matting for maximum strength and protection.
 

Walls: Reinforced EVA panels integrated with TH61 aluminium profiles (functioning like side impact bars) and lined with heavy-duty rubber matting.
 

Ramp: Built from a steel box frame, with nap panel and marine ply, topped with high-grip matting (anti-slip and tear-resistant) to ensure safe loading and unloading.
 

Flooring: Composed of alloy tread plate with a one-piece, sealed rubber matting for seamless hygiene and comfort.
 

Roof: Made from high-quality NAPS panels with a 30mm thickness for insulation and strength.
 

Body Construction: Walls are slotted between the steel box section frame and aluminium sheeting—glued and riveted in place for enhanced durability. The steel frame is then bolted and welded directly to the chassis.
 

Ramp Hardware: Equipped with four hinges and a damper for smooth operation and stability.
 

Travel Lights: Equipped with internal travel lights to keep the horse area well-lit, ensuring visibility and calmness during transit, day or night.
